J.K. alumni association was
established to share experiences with the alma mater and
friends. Its aim is to have good interaction between the
alumni of the institute. With the help of this
association the alumni are now well acquainted with each
other even though working in the different
organizations.
The office bearers of the association and staff members
of the institute along with local JK Tians jointly,
under the leadership of Prof. S.G. Prakash and guidance
of Prof. M.P. Singh & Prof. A.P. Sinha and others,
decided to improve the activities of the alumni
association and celebrate the Golden Jubilee Year in a
grand style. It was decided to organize a large number
of national & international level get-togethers, to
bring out an alumni book, setting up local centres at
places where there is a good number of JK Tians.
Department has already organized two national level
meets in which about 300 alumni were also felicitated.
The first local centre was set up at Dehradun in June
2005 and second one at Lucknow recently on Nov.5, 2006.
It was also decided to organize Annual General Meeting
of the association every year near Dipawali festival and
to invite all the alumni in general and particularly the
members of Silver Jubilee & Golden Jubilee alumni
batches, completing 25 years and 50 years respectively.
The year 2005-06 is Silver Jubilee year for 1980-81
batch. The association is proud of this batch. All it’s
member are very well placed. Out of 31 members, 16 are
GMs in the BSNL.
Next year alumni batch 1981-82 will get the proud
privilege of being the silver jubilee batch.
JK Alumni Association decided to honor meriteous
students and help poor students. The following gold
medal and scholarships are instituted.
1. Prof. O.P. Agrawala Memorial
Gold Medal for overall B.Tech Topper.
This Gold Medal has been instituted by Mr. Anurag
Agarwal, a topper of 1973 batch in the memory of his
father.
2. Bhatnagar Gold Medal for
M.Tech Topper.
This Gold Medal has been instituted by Bhatnagar
Memorial (Cheritable) Trust, Bhairon Prasad Road, Chand
Ganj, Lucnow.
3. Smt. Ratan Sinsh Memorial Gold
Medal for overall B.Tech Topper (Girl).
This Gold Medal has been
instituted by Prof. Nar Singh an alumnus of 1973 batch
in the memory of his wife.
4. J K Alumni Gold Medal for M.Sc.
Topper
This gold medal will be given by JK Alumni Association.
5. Sri Niranjan Singh Memorial
Scholarship
Scholarship of Rs.500/- p.m. to a poor student of B.Tech
II (3rd & 4th semesters).
6. Sri Niranjan Singh Memorial
Scholarship
Scholarship of Rs.500/- p.m. to a poor student of B.Tech
III (5th & 6th semesters).
The above two scholarships will be given by Prof. Nar
Singh in the memory of his father.
