Auditorium

The department has a beautiful auditorium. It is called as S.N.Ghosh auditorium. Prof. S.N.Ghosh was the first head of the department. The auditorium has the capacity of about 300 persons. It is fully air-conditioned hall with the comfortable seats. The seats are also of such a quality that a student or faculty can put his bag in the back portion of  the seat.

The auditorium has a permanent wide screen, a modern projector and public addressing system. Using these devices several functions, seminars, examinations are conducted in the auditorium. This is also provided for PPT, Pre Placement Talk, by the companies visiting for the recruitment procedure. This auditorium is so grand that it is also demanded time by time by other departments of the university.n>

The Central Internet Access Facility

The Institute houses the Central Internet Access Facility (CIAF) of the University. The students of the University are provided with internet access through this facility. This facility is also available to the teachers and staff members of the University. The CIAF is located in the J.K. Institute Annexe building.

Computing Facilities

The Department Laboratories are modern and networked offering the students and faculty good computing power on various platforms. The computers are networked either in the Windows 98 (peer to peer) or Linux/SCO UNIX networks of varying descriptions. The heterogeneous network available in the labs are structured using CAT 5 UTP cabling system with manageable hubs supported by Ethernet switch to prevent collision on network traffic. The institute also houses a CYBER-180/830 Mainframe computer. Most of the systems are Pentiums and a few of them are PC AT-486 DX2's.
