Syllabus for B.Tech. / M.Sc.

The Institute offers B. Sc. (Computer Science & Computer Maintenance), M. Sc. Computer Science (Software), Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science, B. Tech., M. Tech. and D. Phil. in Electronics and Communication. The M. Sc. program aims at imparting comprehensive knowledge in Computer Science with equal emphasis on theory and practice, thus preparing the students for higher studies, research and a career in software development and system programming.

 

Bachelor of Technology (Electronics & Communication) ( 3 Years Course , the last batch is 2007-2010)
First Semester: Six Theory Papers and Practicals in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Programming, and Engineering Drawing.
Theory Papers:
  1. Mathematical Methods.
  2. Electronic Materials and Devices.
  3. Basic Electronic Circuits.
  4. Circuit Theory.
  5. Fundamentals of Computers and Programming.
  6. Electrical Technology.
Second Semester: Six Theory Papers and Practicals in Digital Electronics and Microprocessors, Communication, Data Structures, and Workshop.
Theory Papers:
  1. Digital Electronics.
  2. Signals and Systems.
  3. Linear Integrated Circuits.
  4. Fibre Optics and Optical Communication.
  5. Microprocessors.
  6. Network Analysis & Synthesis.

Third Semester: Six Theory Papers, Practicals in DSP, Communication, Measurement and Instrumentation and a Mini Project/Design.
Theory Papers:

  1. Control Systems.
  2. EM Wave Theory.
  3. Power Electronics.
  4. Fiber Optic Communication.
  5. Communication Systems.
  6. Measurement and Instrumentation.
Fourth Semester: Six Theory Papers, Practical in Microwave, TV and Antenna, Digital Communication and a Mini Project.

  2. Digital Signal Processing.
  3. TV and Video Systems.
  4. Information Theory and Coding.
  5. Antennas.
  6. Micro electronics.

Fifth Semester: Two core papers, two elective papers and a Project.

  2. Management in Engineering.
  3. Microwave Technology.
  4. Computer Networks and Protocols
Sixth Semester: Two core papers, two elective papers and a Project.
Theory Papers:
  1. Space and Satellite Communication.
  2. Radar and Navigational Aids.
  3. Advance Computer Arcitecture.
  4. Elective I.

 

Master of Science - Computer Science (Software)

First Semester: Five Theory Papers and a Practical Laboratory.

Third Semester: Four core papers, One elective paper and Summer Training (6 weeks).
